The Dawlet Ring

Dawlet -meaning state, country, or empire- is a loaned Turkish word originating from Arabic. A name given to the Pasha or Bey's eldest daughter, it was used to convey a family's grandeur and sovereignty in connection with that of Egypt's.

Eponymously named after Naïma Misri's sister, the Dawlet Ring is exclusively made with unheated, pigeon-blood Burmese rubies or red diamonds. Embodying Egypt's historic power and poise, the Dawlet ring is completely handmade in our Firenze workshop (with no computer elements) to conform to our commitment to tradition and savoir-faire.

The Dawlet Ring is a specialty of the House of Misri and a collector's masterpiece, completely customizable in any style, and made with the highest and rarest grades of ethically sourced, pigeon-blood, unheated Burmese rubies or red diamonds.

Distinct and dazzling with their presence, the Sultanas’ contrasting geometric shapes and audacious curves embody the poise and power of these world sovereigns. They are a collector’s piece taking months to make, and are adjustable and fully customizable in any gemstone to manifest your own personal aura and bring out the Sultana within.

Makers of the World's First Expandable Irregular Eternity Ring

The Qalawoun Shukrazad: Un Objet d'Art

Fusing an eternity ring’s notion of the infinity with that of Shukr شكر -or thankfulness- to embody both gratefulness and abundance, the elaborate lacework of marquise Colombian emeralds and trilliant diamonds evokes the celestial captured in Cairo’s architecture. The interplay of its different shapes and the contrast of its vivid green emeralds and diamonds bedazzle with the perception of endless flow and avertiginous sense of profundity, a tribute to the universal concept of gratitude.

Lapidary Excellence in the Finest Gemstones

Misri’s Qalawoun collection is inspired by Cairo’s rich heritage in geometric patterns. Featuring a mosaic of marquise Colombian emeralds and trilliant diamonds, Shukrazad is its centerpiece. Misri’s lapidary excellence, expertise in gemstones, and meticulous selection process imbues every stone’s polish, colour, and sparkle. Each custom cut emerald and diamond is delicately set in one of 32 constituent gold pieces.

Three Dimensional Craftsmanship & Savoir Faire

The Qalawoun Shukrazad is a feat of engineering, involving detailed modeling to create the interweaving marquise Colombian emerald and trilliant diamonds. A titanium spring that allows the ring to expand by 3-4 sizes holds the gold pieces together to create un objet d’art and heirloom: strong enough yet supple to fit more than one finger and be passed from generation to generation, memorializing Shehrazad- the female storyteller from 1001 nights.

The Rising Sun of Egypt

The Rising Sun of Egypt symbolizes life, ancient Egyptian "ankh", and the suns rays.

Meticulously crafted in our Firenze atelier, its sparkling, central yellow diamond (fancy vivid or intense) embodies the sun. The meticulously-set baguette diamond trapezoids epitomize the suns' rays, creating an œuvre d'art that shines brightly on any finger.

Exemplified by bespoke pieces like the Qalawoun Shukrazad ring, our experienced artisans design and craft the most ornate and exclusive pieces that require extensive savoir-faire, whether it's for a special occasion or your everyday elegance.
